Our Story
Building a Better Way to Decide
EduGPS was founded with a clear vision by Tey Yik Hoon, who saw the need for a more structured and reliable way for students to make education decisions.
Working closely with students and families, she recognised a recurring challenge: students overwhelmed by too many choices, parents uncertain about cost and outcomes, and decisions made based on incomplete or misleading information.
To bring this vision to life, she worked together with Eng Lih Ken, Co-Founder of EduGPS, combining hands-on student advisory experience with a structured, data-driven approach to decision making.
With a background working with global organisations such as Hewlett-Packard, World Health Organization, and GlaxoSmithKline, he brought a systems-driven perspective to solving complex decision problems.
Together, they built on an early concept known as Integrated Career Studies (ICS) — connecting student interests, course selection, university pathways, and career outcomes. As education choices became more complex, EduGPS was created to scale this philosophy using AI and structured decision frameworks.
